Penang We're in Penang now, to be exactly at Eden Seeview , Batu Ferringhi. We took the overnig intercity to Butterworth from Kuala Lumpur and then the morning ferry, wich leaves right from the train station, to GeorgeTown Penang) We now rent a condominium at Eden Seeview, Batu ferringhi, Pulau Penang.Miss Lee from the real-estate company where we rented it from , picked us up from the ferry terminal. Having lived in a single hotel room for a month, switching now to this appartment, with a great view to the see and background mountains, is quit a transition. The appartment was rented via Penang Properties in Penang We also rented a small car, for easier travel around the island. So yes allso quit a differece from Kuala lumpur, where we did everything via the excelent metro system. Allhough it is not extremely expensive (condominium plus car cost us RM3500 for a month) it still is quit a attack to our budget. But ok for that we have all the freedom on this island while we are here for the next month. The Condominium has a full kitchen, microwave and washing machine.The first one means we can now cook for ourselves. That is also a nice diversion from the eating at foodcourts and restaurants last month. Not that it is so much cheaper if you cook your self (If you are used to eat at the cheaper foodcourts for an average of RM10 per meal.) But you can eat a little bit better for the same price and it is allso nice to make things yourself. Theres a Cold Storage supermarket at Island Plaza in Tanung Tokong a some 5km direction Georgetown from here right at the main road, and our first ride with our rental car goes there. Hmm left driving so carefull the first rides so not making mistakes! Luckely the traffic in Malaysia and allso here in Penang is very good regulated and the people here drive carefully. Also there is not too much traffic on the roads.Allthough I must say that the driving style of some people on scooters is not allways a pleasure. Squeezing themselves between cars and overhauling you left and right makes it important that you keep a good eye on your mirrors. |
