:-)
It feels pretty strange
walking in a typical
french city in the middle of Laos, but Luang
Prabang is as
French as French cities comes.
A good thing with that is that they have superb

We
wanted to go to Laos and
the town of Luang Prabang from the Chang Rai district (golden triangle
Northern Thailand) and did some research regarding the boat trips down the Mekong River
from the area.
We found out that the fast ferry was both dangerous and probably
stopped by the Laos authorities (speedboats with four to six
wearing earplugs and helmets!!!) and that the slow ferry was a two days
trip usually overcrowded and not very nice, the place to sleep on the
way had monopoly and the state of the guesthouse was according to this;
bad we were told. Then by luck
we found an alternative. By going to

simcard in Thailand at least from DTAC you better be
able to read Thai. That is because you will get a sms asking you if it
is ok to give your number to some news businesses that will then send you an sms every hour 24/7
in Thai about something, news I guess. This you of course pay for

Of J anuary
Gapang Beach Pulau Weh
The long awaited but also feared
first dive in tropical waters (sharks
there you

a success.
Never knew it would be so
much easier to dive in a wetsuit compared to
a dry
suit, I only
wish that the bottle (aluminum) would stop pulling me up.
;-D.
The water was nice and warm 28 degrees.
We made an easy first dive…straight out from the

Asia and Kuala Lumpur
Finally we're starting the adventure we'd been talking about for a long
time.
ASIA.... I've never been
there but heard a lot of nice things about it.
I'm curious if I'll like it. After a pleasant flight from Amsterdam via
Singapore we arrrive in Kuala Lumpur (KL)
and find our hotel The Heritage
Station Hotel in the old main train station building. We're here for one month and the
room is cheap for long stay, it is a nice and ok cleaned
room. Now the adventure can start.
